Riding harder, landing cleaner, progressing faster – that’s what keeps people coming back. No argument there. But the riders who improve the most tend to be the ones who don’t treat safety like an afterthought.
At Gravity Stunt Systems, we support smarter practice so riders can build confidence without ignoring the fundamentals of safety and kind sportsmanship.

Fun is the whole reason you’re out there. Nobody’s arguing that. But the best sessions happen when people know MTB rules, stay patient, and don’t skip steps just to squeeze in one more run. Got a question about setup, whether a rider’s ready for a certain move, or anything safety-related? Reach out to Gravity Stunt Systems. We’d rather help you sort it out early than guess wrong later.
One at a time – no exceptions. Everyone else stays clear of the landing zone until the rider before them is completely finished and out of the way. It keeps things calmer, gives each person a clean run, and leaves room to remember MTB rules between turns.
Safe and respectful spectatorship comes with other key MTB rules. Make sure to follow proper sportsmanship, including no horseplay, no heckling, and being supportive and encouraging. In addition, make sure you:
Watch for consistency first. A rider should be able to repeat the basic approach, takeoff, and body position before adding anything bigger.
Confidence helps, as long as it’s developed while encouraging smart and mindful decisions. We recommend ongoing, consistent mastery of one skill before progressing to more complex stunts or attempting more air. Also, watch out for signs that your kids have the appropriate strength and coordination with proper balance and control.
The best mountain biking adventures are done as a whole family, and everyone can have a part to play, from helping set up to helping with takedown, to cheering each other on.
Most importantly: keep it fun! Bring snacks, prioritize everyone’s enjoyment over competition, and be willing to call it a day. If people are getting tired or the weather is taking a turn for the worse, don’t push things: save your fun for next time.
